One of West-Sweden’s seven wonders consists of the locks in Trollhättan. Hundreds
of thousands of tourists visit the area each year to see how boats make their way through the locks and not in the least to see 300,000 litres of water per second being released into the river. 

Travel to Trollhättan!

Fast and effective! Irrespective of whether you want to travel by car, bicycle, boat, bus, airplane or train, you’ll find convenient connections with Trollhättan-Vänersborg.  

By air

There are flights connecting Trollhättan-Vänersborgs airport with both Arlanda and Bromma. The airline company Golden Air carries out these flights and offers low-cost tickets for some departure times. The journey takes about an hour, and the centre of both towns can be reached within 10 minutes. The airport offers a free car park and wireless Internet access.

By train

In just over 3 hours, the X2000 takes you from Stockholm to Trollhättan. It offers a pleasant journey with a fully licensed bistro and Internet access. From Gothenburg, there are smooth connections with modern trains. The journey takes less than an hour.

By car

Trollhättan is easy accessible by car. From Gothenburg you travel north on E45 along the river valley, from Uddevalla or Mariestad/Lidköping on road no. 44, from Borås on no. 42 and from Falköping road no. 47.
